  • Jaleo: Celebrity Chef José Andrés opened his newest restaurant in Disney Springs on March 17.  Spanish-inspired food and “artichoke-inspired” architecture.
  • Jabari: Guests on the Kilimanjaro Safari at the Animal Kingdom may get a glance of the new Masai giraffe calf born in January.

Sometime in 2019 A Beauty and the BeastSing-Along at Epcot will open in Epcot’s France Pavilion in 2019. Although it will use the same theatre as Impression de France, the retro movie is not going away. It is simply sharing its space with the new sing-along.

Sometime in 2019 NBA Experience opens in 2019 in Disney Springs. Fans will be able to feel the thrill of the NBA Draft, step onto the court, execute a slam dunk, watch the league’s most fascinating replays, play video games, and more. Of course, there will also be a gift shop. It is Disney after all.

Spring or Summer 2019 A Space-themed restaurant in Epcot may appear in spring or summer between Mission Space and Epcot. The Disney Food Blog reports that the Patina Restaurant Group has posted online looking for applicants to work in a Disney Epcot Space 220 Restaurant in Florida with an April 2019 date to “join the crew.”

Summer 2019 Opening of City Works Eatery & Pour House at Disney Springs. The location is expected to offer 80 local and international brews on tap.

July 9 Opening date for Toldeo-Tapas, Steak & Seafood. The new restaurant atop Coronado Springs’ Gran Destino Tower will offer views of Epcot and Hollywood Studios, indoor and outdoor seating, and flavors of Spain.

August 29 Phase I opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. Disney reports,On opening day for phase one, you’ll be able to live your own Star Wars story and take the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, sample amazing galactic food and beverages, explore an intriguing collection of merchant shops and more.

August 31-Sept. 2 Labor Day Weekend

Fall 2019 The Disney Skyliner gondola transportation system begins service. It will connect Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resort hotels—Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach and the new Riviera Resort.

Fall 2019 Epcot Forever, a new nighttime show featuring classic Epcot tunes, starts in the fall of 2019. It will only run for a limited time before it is replaced by a yet-to-be-revealed nighttime spectacular in 2020.

Late Fall Phase II opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This will include the opening of the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction, an immersive attraction that will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance and will blur the lines between fantasy and reality.
